URGENCY OF THE END

Everything on this earth–every good time, every day of sorrow, every opportunity, every life–has an end.

While we have been in Minnesota two precious friends have passed away, reminding us once again that life here on earth is short.

Responding yes to Christ’s offer of salvation is the most important decision we make, because it determines where we will spend eternity when our lives here on earth come to an end. What a wonderful blessing it is to know for sure that one day I will go to heaven. That’s why we have the Bible. These things are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name (John 20:31).

For now, our lives on this earth are a series of ends and beginnings. There are times we are happy to see the end and times we long for a time to last just a little longer. Our days in Minnesota have almost come to an end. We long to get home to family, friends, and warm sunny days, but at the same time we hate to leave our Minnesota family and friends (the weather, that’s another story). It’s hard to believe that in two days we will be heading south, back home to Florida.

Despite the all the event cancellations in Minnesota (due to coronavirus and rioting), we have amazing news to share.

God gave us opportunity to hand out almost 700 walking sticks over the last 90 days!

Yes, 700! To God goes all glory!

3 walking sticks out of 700. Pete, Kathy our campground neighbor who is excited to share the story of the beads at her RV park in Arizona this winter, and Owen who we continue to pray for.

In addition to that, we met and enjoyed fellowship with our campground neighbor Kathy who plans to join us next summer as we hand out walking sticks and share the gospel at Minnesota festivals and events.

Pete, Kathy, and Sandy enjoying a time of fellowship at the Kaffe Stuga in Harris, Minnesota.

We cannot comprehend God’s goodness. A couple days ago, while at my mother’s house a neighbor that mom has been praying for stopped by. During her visit, God opened the door for me to present the gospel and she prayed to receive Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. What a blessing this was for my mom to have this happen in her home after many years of prayer. Tomorrow Pete and I will drop off the Christian Farmer material and a Bible so she has tools to help her with assurance and growth. This woman was severely abused as a child and never saw herself as someone worthy of love. We praise God that today she was born into a new family, with a Father who loves her and is preparing a wonderful home for her in heaven. I’m amazed that this happened on one of our last days in Minnesota.

We love to tell His story!

We love to tell others about Jesus and are humbled and grateful for every opportunity God gave us this summer, every person he sent our way, every seed that was planted. And every person who now knows for sure that when their time here on earth comes to an end, they will live forever in the presence of their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

As summer comes to an end and the leaves of autumn begin to show their splendor, we look back over the summer with enormous gratitude. On a personal note, we were able to be present as our granddaughter Cassie and Eric, a wonderful Christian man, were united in marriage.

Cassie and Eric.

The foot washing was an especially powerful and beautiful part of the ceremony.

We were so excited that Tia was able to fly in from Florida for Cassie’s big day.

It was also a joy to have our granddaughter Emily spend a couple nights with us at the campground and I was able to spend precious time with my sister, Diane, and my mom. Pete was also able to spend time with his family.

What a gift to spend time relaxing with Pete and Chris at their cabin in the tranquil beauty of northern Minnesota.

Tomorrow we will celebrate our great grandson Jesse’s second birthday.

Through God’s amazing grace, Pete made it through the difficulties of his two torn rotator cuffs and an emergency hospitalization due to one of his extreme migraines.

Most important, we made contacts with several leaders of summer festivals and events that will open doors for us next summer.

And in our spare time, Pete and I prepared our ministry budget for 2021.

As we end our time in Minnesota, coronavirus is still taking lives, racial tensions continue to flare, crime is on the increase, hate seems to overshadow love, and respect for others has turned to scorn.

Perhaps you are like us. Your heart breaks every time you click on an online news source or turn on the evening news. You ponder portions of Scripture such as Matthew 24 and the book of Revelation and wonder how long it will be before God proclaims that he’s had enough of man’s wickedness and pride.

This world seems to have spun out of control.

But it has not.

God is still in control. He is still calling folks to enter into a relationship with him.

And he will until the very end of time.

Because he loves us each one of us.

John 3:16 says it best. For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

For Pete and myself, we feel a real urgency of the end. Over and over we ask how much longer God will put up with this world.

That is why we have a passion to do what we do, why we are so grateful for your prayers and gifts that allow us to keep going, and why we are grateful for The Fellowship of Christian Farmers who have provided an understandable and easy way to share the gospel.

Our needs are great but God is greater.

More than ever, your prayers for us and the ministry of the Fellowship of Christian Farmers are needed and appreciated. Please pray for:

  1. Denise (Sandy’s mom’s neighbor) that she will find a church home and grow in her Christian walk.
  2. Our young neighbor at the campground, Owen, that he will make a decision for Jesus.
  3. Brooke, the young drug addict we met on our way north, that she will turn back to the Lord.
  4. Safe travel as we return to Florida.
  5. No mechanical problems with the car or RV. We did have some issues yesterday which has set us back a bit.
  6. The Lord will lead us to people who need to hear the gospel as we travel south.
  7. Pete’s upcoming doctor appointments and planned shoulder surgery when we return to Florida.
  8. That coronavirus comes under control and we will be able to set up at all our winter and spring events in Florida. Open doors and open hearts.
  9. Our financial needs, that God will provide the finances to meet our 2021 ministry budget.
  10. Pete and I will build bridges with local churches who will support this ministry with prayer and open doors to disciple new believers.

If the Lord leads you to give financially to support this ministry, please click on “Giving.” All gifts are tax deductible and greatly appreciated. If you write a check, please be sure to write Pete and Sandy Singer in the memo.

Without your prayers and financial support, this ministry would not be possible. There aren’t enough ways to thank each of you who keep us in prayer and financial support of the ministry.

In addition to this month’s normal blog, we would like to share the information that we share with those God brings our way. If you already know Jesus as your Savior and Lord, feel free to adopt any of this as you speak to unsaved friends and loved ones. If you are in doubt about your relationship with the Lord and aren’t sure what will happen to you when your time on earth has come to an end, please stop right now.

Stop and pray.

Ask God to open your eyes and your ears and speak directly to your heart.

The beaded leather bracelet in the picture above is identical to the ones tied to the walking sticks we give out. Each bead reminds us of an important truth.

The GOLD bead represents heaven.

Heaven is the place everyone wants to go when they leave this world. Did you know that it is God’s desire for you to go to heaven someday? He loves you and wants you to experience the peace and perfect life he has prepared for you. Revelation 21:21 gives us one of many glimpses of heaven: And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass. That is just one picture of heaven, the wonderful place God has prepared for those who believe.

2Peter 3:9 says: The lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.

The DARK bead reminds us of sin and how sin separates us from God.

God did not make us robots who would automatically love and serve him. He gave us a free will. We can choose to obey or disobey him. When we disobey God, that is called sin and sin separates us from God who is perfect and holy.

The Bible tells us that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). That means there is not one sinless person (except Jesus Christ who was fully human and fully God). The Bible also warns us what we earn from our sin. For the wages (what we earn) of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our lord (Romans 6:23).

So, how do we receive this gift of salvation and eternal life? Ephesians 2:8-9 makes it clear: For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. We receive God’s grace and the riches of a relationship with him, which includes an eternal home in heaven, through faith. There is nothing we can do, no way we can earn a place in heaven. We must reach out by faith and receive the gift of eternal life that God offers.

The RED bead reminds us of the blood of Jesus Christ.

His blood is what makes our salvation possible. Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty for my sin and your sin. And he rose from the grave, conquering death forever. I love what the prophet Isaiah said in Isaiah 53:6. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned–every one–to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him (Jesus) the iniquity of us all. Yes, all of your sin and the sin of all mankind was placed on Jesus when he shed his blood on the cross.

1John 1:7b declares: The blood of Jesus Christ His son cleanses us from all sin.

The WHITE bead represents forgiveness and purity.

If by faith we agree that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that he died on the cross for our sins and we make the decision to accept his free gift of eternal life, the Bible (God’s word) promises that you will be saved and spend eternity in heaven.

John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.

Romans 10:9 That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

Is there any reason why you cannot receive Jesus Christ right now?

Simply pray this with a sincere and believing heart. “Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and need forgiveness. Please forgive me. I believe that you died for my sin. I want to turn from my sin and invite you to come into my life. I want to trust and follow you as my Lord and Savior. In Jesus name, Amen.

If you prayed with a sincere heart, your life has changed. The Bible says you are a new person in Christ. When your time here on earth comes to an end, you will go to your eternal home in heaven. Isn’t that good news! While you are still here, you will never be alone to face the problems of this life. Jesus will be with you, guiding you, comforting you through the difficult times. He has promised that he will never leave you or turn his back on you.

The green bead represents growing in Christ.

The Bible tells us to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (2Peter 3:18). As Christians we grow by:

  1. Reading our Bibles.
  2. Talking to God in prayer.
  3. Telling others about what Christ has done for you.
  4. Worship, fellowship, and serve with other believers in a church where Christ is preached.
  5. Demonstrate Christ’s love to others.

Do you need assurance as a believer?

In John 5:24 Jesus says: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgement, but has passed from death into life.” What an amazing promise!

If you read this and prayed to receive Christ as your Lord and Savior, please let us know in the comments. We would like to send you a bracelet as a gift and a reminder of the life-changing decision you made. Please let us know how we can pray for you.

Remember this:

You are in God’s mighty and all powerful grip!

Pete and Sandy Singer
